DEFINITION OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:
The information technology is that
which computer systems use to store, process and analyze the communication of
information.

The information technology is the
integration of computing technology and information processing.

DATA:
Data is a representation or
collection of facts or raw material for information.
DATA COMMUNICATIONS:
Data communication is the electronic
collection and distribution of information between two points.
OR
Data communication is the process of
exchanging data over communication facilities.
DATA COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM:
These are computer systems that
transit data over communication lines, such as public telephone lines or
private network cables.
INFORMATION:
Data that have been collected and
processed into a meaningful form is called information.
OR
Information is an input data that has
been processed by the computer.

formats of information?
FORMATS OF INFORMATION:
Information can appear in a variety
of formats.
(a)DATA:
Information can be appeared in the
form of string data. String data includes alphabets with numbers. Numeric data
includes 0-9 digits.
(b)TEXT:
The second format of information is
in the form of sentences and phrases. This is called text. Text is much more
meaningful.

STILL PICTURES, GRAPHICS &
CHARTS:
The third format of information is in
pictorial form. This includes still pictures, graphic, freehand drawing and
chart.
(d)VOICE AND VIDEO:
The fourth format of information is
in the form of spoken phrases and sentences. The spoken phase or sentence is
called voice. Voice is much more meaningful like a text as compared to data.
Q No.4:- What is the importance of
Computer?
IMPORATANCE OF COMPUTER:
Today we are standing at the
confluence of three powerful technological forces; computers,
telecommunications and electronic entertainment. The computer’s digital
technology is showing in everything from telephone to television.
Computer has emerged out as the most
useful and powerful tool yet developed, which has change the information need
of most of the people all over the world. Computer technology has a deep and
long lasting influence on international trade, pattern of employment,
industrial productivity, home life, entertainment, health care, education, art,
music, scientific researches and investigation of crimes etc.
At present we live in a global
village in which computers and people are linked within companies and between
countries. The global village is an outgrowth of the computer network.
