What is Digital Marketing?

Before starting SEO lets have a quick overview of  Digital Marketing which is also called Internet Marketing because SEO is basically a Digital Marketing Tool so we should know about the Digital Marketing so now What is Digital Marketing?  Digital Marketing in simplest words is the process of promoting the products and services via Internet or any other digital media. 

One who learn the digital marketing or he or she is involved in doing some type of digital marketing work he or she is said to be digital marketer.

So now What are digital marketing activities: digital marketing activities include all the activities by means any one sale / purchase his / her services / products by means of some electronic media, but we will focus only on one thing that is Search Engine Optimization (SEO) which is also called Web Search Engine Optimization, the other Digital marketing activities are SEM, SMM, OEM, SMO,Now I am defining these 5 words below, we do not discuss these all terms in detail in this course, because this course is for Search Engines Optimization, so that is why we just understand the terms for now and then go to Search Engine Optimization in detail:  

Digital Marketing Tools / Online Marketing Tools:

1.    Search Engine Optimization (SEO):  (this is free)

In simplest words we can say that SEO is an Art, a Business, a Process of a website getting into search results of any search engine such as www.google.com, www.yahoo.com, www.bing.com, www.mamm.com and so on. Search Engine Optimization is free means we don’t have to pay anything.

2.    Search Engine Marketing (SEM)  ( this is Paid):

Now What is SEM actually in simplest words we can say it is a types or kind of Internet Marketing, through which we can promote our websites by increasing in search result of any search engine through paid advertising, for this type of Internet Marketing.

3.    Social Media Marketing (SMM)  ( this is Paid):

Now What is SMM actually in simplest words we can say SMM is the process of getting traffic/visitors / users on a websites through Social media Websites such as Facebook, twiiter, Google Plus etc. Facebook marketing is the most effective way of in Social media marketing.

4.    Online Email Marketing (OEM)  (Paid):

Now What is OEM or Online Emal Marketing, it is simply the process of marketing a products / services or commercial messages to a group of people using  email

5.    Social media Optimization (SMO) (Free)

The last term in our topic is the SMO or Social Media Optimization, we will also discuss this topic in the end of this course in detail. But what is SMO actually it is also the art of increasing the traffic on any websites just like Search Engine Optimization. Through SMO process we optimize website and its content in terms of sharing across social media websites and it is the use of a number of social media outlets and communities to generate publicity to increase the awareness of any type of product or services, brand, event etc. Social media includes RSS feeds,social news and bookmarking sites, as well as social websites such as Facebook, twiiter, Google Plus etc. Facebook and video such as youtube and blogging websites such as blogger.com
